Springtime with the Jacksons!

Well, "spring" might be a stretch at this point since the weather has been hovering around the 90's pretty consistently, but either way, we are back to living outside and using the house solely as a place to sleep, eat and stop sweating.

My spring break was awesome. It was a stay-cation, but no worries - my best buddies came to stay with me for a WHOLE week! They moved to TX a few months ago, so we had much to catch up on...

This was a pretty typical afternoon. Charli rolling around, Sully messing up our train track by sitting on it, and us big guys refusing to take a normal picture.

And this was a pretty typical meal - outside and still making weird faces at the camera.

Not to be outdone by the silliness, Sul and Charli had their own fun.

After our friends left (...sniffle...), we managed to console ourselves by preparing for Easter! This involved a multitude of activities.

First, we began by dying Easter eggs (hooray!) AND enjoying a visit from Peedles (double hooray!)!!

We were all pretty excited to get started dying eggs...

...and then Sul had to take it too far by stripping down.

DYING EGGS (nearly) NAKED?! WHA-!?!? Too far, Sul. Too far.

Regardless of someone's immodesty, the result was spectacular!

Just a stunning grouping of eggs/future snacks if I do say so. (And I do.)

I also had my Easter concert last week! Here I am getting all psyched up for my performance. (Read - here I am incapable of posing in a calm, normal fashion for Mom.)

...more freestyle posing/psyching myself up...

And here, for your enjoyment, is a portion of me singing my heart out! Apparently, when performing, I get "nervous" hands. Who knew!?!?

Following my concert, I had a class Easter party. The older I become, the more I realize that no holiday is truly complete without taking a violent hand to whatever symbol (in this case, a bunny) represents that particular occassion.

Well, you can tell that I take that portion of celebrating a holiday very seriously. Nice wide stance.

Then, right before Easter day actually arrived, Daddy came home!!! He has been on the road a lot so we made the most out of having him home for the holiday weekend.

We hit the strawberry patch - and Sul was on the hunt.

There were many a green-strawberry-casualty that day. He seemed to still be a little fuzzy as to which ones were okay to pick and which ones to leave behind. Or maybe he just didn't care? Either way, he massacred those plants.

Me? I just relaxed and played in the park while everyone else did the hard work.

But I did manage to pop over just in time to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Perfect timing? Oh yes. Intentionally so.

We also hit the pool in order to cool down a bit...

Sul and I are both perfecting our jumps.

Check out that height!

Awww... precious. Nice, teeny-tiny jump, Sul! (This is me not talking down to him. Well, maybe I am. But just a little. I mean that jump is just so small!)

And then, FINALLY, Easter arrived! What a blessing to be able to celebrate such a wonderful holiday - we serve a risen Savior!

In addition to thanking God for His Son, we began the day by hunting for eggs the Easter Bunny hid at some point during the night. I expressed some frustration over the fact I did not hear him enter or leave. Mystified.

And then we went hunting for our baskets! Sully was especially blown away by his treat.

But then, I guess I was pretty excited too.

And lastly, family pictures. Mom always has grand plans to commemorate a holiday with photos, but often makes comments about how the scenario in her head is always different than reality.

Hmmm? What's that? You mean taking pictures shouldn't always be an "adventure" and take more time than they should?

Here is a sampling of what was taken...

Okay, so that wasn't a huge success. Let's move onto Mom...

Ooops. Nope. Still not great. Perhaps pictures with Dad?

Oh great. Fantastic picture if Sul didn't have his finger shoved up his nose.

Ah yes. Of course he has to inspect what he just dug out.

Classy.

And just when both parents were ready throw in the towel, we stopped kidding around and gave them a few nice, brotherly photos. All was well again.

Happy Easter to you all!

**Note - Ten minutes prior to taking these pictures, Sully was dressed in an identical outfit to mine. However, he decided to go ahead dirty it on up with some poop from his diaper. Yes, that's right. For the first time EVER, he stuck his hand in his (apparently) poop-filled diaper and wiped it on his shirt. Mom was super psyched about this. Ah well... maybe next year she'll get her wish to have matching boys?
