Southern Living

Per usual, life has been a tad busy for me... Mom just uprooted me again (for the 5th time this year, but hey - who's counting?) and moved me to the South. However, before we could leave, I had some business to attend to.

First, I had to get my teeth checked out. I have grown EIGHT new ones since Dad left. What can I say? I'm a late bloomer!

"Miss Kaffy" (one of my mom's good buddies) checked me out.

Of course she had never seen pearly whites like mine. It's doubtful that she ever will again...

Then I had a few more chances to work on my pilot's license. Uncle Stew assisted me in this by flying to Peedles and Poppy's to see me before I blew out of town.

Of course, I needed exactly no assistance because my flying is so money.

And lastly, Daddy sent me a super cool video to remind me that he'll be home soon and that all of these moves will be worth it. While I'm still a little doubtful on that front, he did to pacify me by taping himself reading "One Fish, Two Fish" which I deeply love.

Here I am with my Yop fingers. Go read the book if you don't know what this means. It's my favorite part.

The trip down South was pretty brutal. I was not a fan of leaving Peedles and Poppy at all. BUT upon arriving at our new house, I had a special treat! Aunt Mel came to visit me!

We did all sorts of cool things, but the highlight was learning how to poke fire ant piles with a stick. Mom is thrilled that I learned this.

Whatevs, Mom. We totally know what we're doing.

It was a downer when Mel left, but Easter was right around the corner.

Egg hunt anyone? I DOMINATED this year. Looted up like nobody's business and managed to wrangle a serious candy stash for Mom. Still not sure how that worked out, but she seems jazzed.

Here I am getting myself psyched up for the competition.

And here I am schooling the other toddlers on how to aggressively hunt for those little plastic jewels of goodness.

Celebratory shot.

I was not aware at the time, but that egg hunt was just the first of three. As I honed my skills, I became more adept at collecting prizes. By the third hunt, some families just went home when they saw me pop out of my carseat.

Yeah. It's true.

Granny joined me for one of them which was totally awesome.

I think she was duly impressed. And please note Mom bending over. She whined the entire time, but only too happily collected and ate the candy afterwards.

After all of that, Granny taught me how to color eggs.

Super fun until I spilled the entire cup of VERY concentrated (extra Paas tablets seemed like such a good idea at the time) of green dye.

Despite this minor setback, I had great success.

Please... meet my "magic egg." He was fun to play with. Fun to crack. And fun to eat.

However, it was not fun when I asked for him the next day and he was gone. Not fun at all.

When Easter morning rolled around, I found a basket of treats that was apparently left by a bunny? Not sure about that, but the basket was pretty sweet.

Here I am inspecting party chicks which arrived in my basket. Just making sure they are suitable passengers for my dump truck.

They were... until all of their feathers started coming off. Weird. And slightly creepy.

All in all, Easter was great and life in general has become sweet again. Now we are just counting down the days until Daddy gets home (so close).

Until the next episode... a happy belated Easter to you all!
