Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter, everyone! I hope that you all had a wonderful day celebrating the risen Lord!!

I certainly did. How? By eating more sugar this weekend than all the other days I've been alive, combined.

The Easter weekend began with a bang - an egg hunt. Naturally, that brought some delicious treats.

I used this particular hunt more as training or practice for a bigger hunt on the horizon. I quickly learned that you need to be focused and aggressive.

OH WAIT!! Are those ducks!??!

"GACK! GACK! GACK!!!"

So much for the hunt...

Finally, Easter morning arrived and this strange basket appeared... I kept hearing that it was from some giant bunny. Well, I saw that bunny in the mall and it freaked me out.

So no thank you Easter Bunny. Mom? Dad? Kindly pull me back onto the bed now.

Oh man - nothing sucks me in like a guck with buttons, lights and sirens.

I concede this year, Easter Bunny, but you'll not dupe me again.

I hate how much I love this truck.

Next up, we got ready for church... and candyfest #1.

Absolutley, I'll be quiet during church! I'm able to handle big kid rules. I mean... I am wearing a vest.

So perhaps church was a bit more of a challenge than any of us imagined. And perhaps I ate two suckers and a cup-full of jellybeans.

So as soon as we got home, Dad took me out to run off the energy with my new kite.

After taking a breather, I got myself psyched up for the real-deal egg hunt.

Game on, Mom. Hold my basket where I can put the eggs in quickly!

WAITTT!!!! Eleven jellybeans are NOT too much for my mouth!! It's bigger than it looks! IT'S BIGGER THAN IT LOOKS!!!!!

I lost that battle. But no worries - I blew off some steam by taking on the big-kid slide. Notice how much I look like a four-year-old.

Eat your heart out one-year-olds!!

Moral of this story? Candy does strange things to me.

C.S. Lewis wrote somewhere about a little boy who talked about Easter in terms of "Chocolate eggs and Jesus is Risen." Sounds like you you guys did some major celebrating. How fun! Love you guys...
