How I spent my Christmas Vacation

Christmas was awesome. I straight looted up as well as held court for a few days at my Peedles and Poppy's house.

And by the way, who knew my folks were so rich? Check out the stuff they got me... Mom kept saying to Peedles that she didn't actually buy me much as I "have the attention span of a fly with toys", but you can clearly see that all of the gifts below would be used by only a six month old, right? She must have searched high and low... I could barely contain my glee!!

A spatula.

A magical cup.

And my favorite... a beautiful bow! You can tell it's a really nice one - see how shiny?

I'll admit, it was a bit elusive at first...

..shiny bow...?? ...helloooo....

And then I got it. Victory is sweet.

Ironically, after all that work - I found myself here...

Who doesn't love to be in a bucket of bows!?

Christmas dinner was, of course, a puree'd delight!

Unfortunately, there was a bump in our holiday when things got a bit testy due to Snowman trying to take my rightful place as the family Santa Clause. You can imagine who won.

Oh wait...a green gator...makes noise...

Nonono...must focus. Back to fighting Snowman.

Poppy and I shared a celebratory drink after the altercation.

Well, I guess "shared" might be a big generous since none was passed my way. Thanks, Poppy.

No, seriously - thanks. I was fine just drinking my own spit.

All in all, we had an absolutely great Christmas and hope that you did too! Have a Happy New Year!

Getting ready for Christmas...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

So far, Cheyenne is pretty great - especially after it was confirmed that they do indeed celebrate Christmas out here as well. In addition to getting settled into the new digs, our days have been spent decorating the tree, going to a Christmas parade (complete with horses wearing lights. That's right - horses wearing lights.), and shopping.

Anyway, the whole concept of Christmas was rather confusing in the beginning...

...but I'm starting to get it. And I have to say - I like what I'm hearing!

Georgia has taken to taunting me on a regular basis. She KNOWS that I am barely mobile and she takes advantage of this by lying just far enough out of my reach to make me very frustrated. After I work and work to eventually reach her - she'll just walk away. If this behavior does not soon stop, she will lose the title of my best friend and will become my archenemy. I am not kidding.

Enough with my personal crisis... I have recently been introduced to some wonderful treats called vegetables. My current favorite are sweet potatoes, although green beans are not too shabby. They are however a tad messy and I might have a tendency to squirt them several feet from wherever I am getting fed. That's fun, right? Apparently not according to my folks.

All in all, things are pretty much the same. Mom is still dragging me around like a circus animal...

...and wearing me out in the process. But hey - who doesn't love a good nap?

Have a great holiday season!!

We made it!

After much preparation and anticipation, we began our trip to Wyoming about 2 weeks ago. It was everything you can imagine - tiring and long with glimpses of both enjoyable and horrific moments.

In addition to being known as the Magic City On the Plains, Cheyenne is also VERY sunny. So, before we began the trek, the appropriate gear was dispensed accordingly. Much appreciated.

During quite a bit of the trip, I decided to entertain mom and Peedles... I would make funny faces, talk, squeal and scream at the top of my lungs for undetermined amounts of time. I had a great time - they apparently were contemplating driving into oncoming traffic. My bad.

In order to combat some of my sourness, Peedles rode in back (a LOT) with Georgie and me! It was very cozy and I do not understand why she kept trying to sneak up front everytime I closed my eyes.

Eventually, I had enough of them and tried to drown out their incessant chatter by sleeping.

Now, the hotel... that was another story. Every night, I had a great time watching Georgie patrol and protect our tiny room. She is not a seasoned traveler like myself and apparently was not so comfortable with the noises surrounding us. Mom was less than sympathic since Georgie's response to EVERY single sound kept her up all night... She said that Georgie is lucky she isn't still at the hotel in Salina, KS.

Not to be forgotten, there was a casualty along the trip - an enormous tumbleweed. It actually attached itself to the car and rode with us for nearly an hour. Impressive, eh?

Anyway, despite whatever mishaps we may have had, the trip went by pretty quick and before we knew it - we were in Cheyenne! Our furniture was delivered the next day and it was really cold - they kept me bundled up pretty well since the doors were open most of the day. I was less than thrilled, but that too soon passed.

At this point, most everything is unpacked and life has started to resume as normal. Dad is home from being gone for 6 weeks and of course he is amazed at all of my new tricks.

We are already loving it out here despite missing our family and friends. It will just have to be somewhere everyone puts on their "must visit" list! You can see how beautiful it is... That is a typical evening off our back porch. Not too shabby...

Not the duck outfit... again!!

My first halloween was quite an experience... It began with four crazy nurses shoving needles into my little thighs. I am of the opinion that immunizations are REALLY overrated. Anyone with me? Austin?? (FYI- he is my new little cousin. I'm now officially one of the big kids!)

At any rate, I didn't stop crying for quite a while... good times.

Eventually, I calmed myself down and spent some time reading my favorite book about bunnies.

Peedles helped me out with some of the words I couldn't quite decipher.

Then mom took me outside to play. Once again, I think she may have overdone it with the layering.

When we got back, the real fun began. I was dressed up and paraded around in that ridiculous duck costume - despite the fact I was barely awake and sore from my shots!!

See my face? It says it all... And mom clearly could not care less. She just laughed the whole time.

We sat outside for some obligatory pictures...

...and finally, I could stand it no more.

...zzzz...zz.....

I love Fall!!

The Season of Fall, as seen through Knox's eyes.

Yay for leaves!

Mmmm... leaves are gooood.

...sniffle...what do you mean I can't chew on leaves?

...sigh...

Oh well - I guess I'll make do with super bland rice cereal.

Yum. I can barely stand how delicious it is.

Between the leaves & food, bathtime is not optional.

Life in WV...

I have finally settled into my new (albeit temporary) residence in WV - and it is as fabulous as expected.

The trip here was incredible. The leaves were changing, the sky was blue, and I watched it all through my eyelids.

Soon after we got to WV, my parents packed me back up and dragged me to visit Uncle Stew in Tennessee. Despite my lack of excitement for another road trip, I quickly changed my tune when I got to see all of the cool stuff my uncle works with... I was particularly taken with an articulated dump truck painted white.

But soon we made it back to Peedles and Poppy's house and truly settled into a better schedule.

Despite the change in location, my days are still to be envied...

I have a personal rocker.

I have a personal walker who takes me to view all things shiny and moving (on this day it was a river). Quite stunning...

I have all the toys I could want. Here is my new favorite - a mylar balloon that says "Oh No, the Big 3-0." Whatever... it is shiny and I LOVE it!

I have someone to hoist me up high and carry me around - this is especially handy when I am sick of being at ankle level.

NOTE: After months of trying, I finally nailed mom on her head with a little "present".

All in all, life is pretty great. I have two parents who love me...

...but aren't afraid to put me in my place either.

But I know I'm still the boss.

Recognize.
